Adelaide Showground Train Station opens

The new Adelaide Showground Train Station is complete and will be open for commuters on 17 February 2014. It replaces the old station at Keswick.
I believe that it is a design masterpiece. (Expect a few design awards to follow.)
It is situated at the end of Rose Terrace, Wayville, adjacent to the Showgrounds.
As a bonus there is a shared pedestrian/cycle path that passes safely under Anzac Highway.
For years I have campaigned to get a path build under Anzac Highway. Cyclists will now be able to pedal down Leader Street, past the Showgrounds, under Anzac HIghway and then into the city.
Well done to the State Government Transport Department for this achievement.

The public is invited to tour the station on Friday 14 February (7:30am to 10am).
Take your sweetheart - it's Valentine's Day.

  1. I like the idea of being able to cycle under Anzac Hwy.
The cycle path used to stop at Rose Tce.
